Please join UWF for the 2nd Annual Holocaust Remembrance Event on January 24, 2024, from 5-7 p.m. at the Center for Fine and Performing Arts, Rolfs Music Hall, the University of West Florida, Pensacola Campus.
The event’s purpose is to remind students and the community about the harm associated with hate and how we have to combat antisemitism and all other hate in a proactive and vocal manner.
The event will include a reading of the names of Holocaust victims with family ties to Pensacola, candle lighting ceremony, an enactment of “Survivors” – the play, talkback with the playwright and actors, reading of Righteous Among the Gentiles, music by Dr. Leonid Yanovskiy and Victoria Adamenko, and a prayer of remembrance.
A post-event reception will be held at 7:00 p.m.
This event is sponsored by the University of West Florida’s Office of Campus Culture and Access, College of Business, College of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities, Hal Marcus College of Science and Engineering, Usha Kundu, MD College of Health, Temple Beth El of Pensacola, B’nai Israel Synagogue – Pensacola, Pensacola Chabad Jewish Center, and Pensacola Jewish Federation.
